March 2010 Member Meeting

Picture
Each month members have the chance to enjoy a great meal prepared by one of the members. It's a chance to get together, swap stories and jokes, and get to know other members, even in the dead of winter. This past members meeting on March 11 was no exception, as members tucked into a delicious traditional New England boiled dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potato, carrots and Irish soda bread. See what you've been missing? Don't forget to mark "DYC" on your calendar every 2nd Thursday of the month!

DYC at Mass Striped Bass Assoc. Fishing Expo.

Picture
Several members represented the club at the annual Massachusetts Striped Bass Associations Fishing Exposition, held at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. The expo was on Saturday, March 6 and Sunday March 7. It was a good opportunity to let fellow boaters and fishermen know about the advantages of the club and interest them in membership.

Blessing of the Fleet - June 21, 2009

Picture
Rev. Peterson led the Blessing of the Fleet ceremony on Father's Day, June 21. He explained the brief service ahead of time to the assembled club members.

Picture
The assembled members stayed inside for the service. Summer may be officially here, but someone forgot to tip off mother nature, and it was another cool, rainy day.

Rev. Peterson also blessed a cleat with a memorial plaque for Mel Conroy (held by his son), which is now displayed on the display case in the main clubhouse room on the first floor.
